Italy for Marble is an Export Consortium which brings together Italian companies from the natural stone industry. These companies are leaders in their sector, supplying technology, know-how and consultancy services at all stages of stone processing as well as consultancy on the commercialisation of natural stone. Their main activity is to help advance international contacts
between companies, resulting in benefits that bring major results (as well as lower costs).
Equally important is the service offered to improve the general "Made in Italy" image, beginning with the stone processing stage to furthering the cooperation between companies in the various sectors within the stone industry.
Without doubt Italy is the absolute leader in this field for quality and innovation. With a history going back thousands of years in the art of working marble, Italians have the ability and flexibility to come up with solutions to process marble that is unique.
Italy for Marble brings together this experience, in particular that of the last fifty years. The stone industry has been revolutionised through advancements in technology, particularly in the excavation and processing of natural stone. Many of the specialised sectors which resulted from this advance in technology, have truly surpassed the imagination in the forms that marble and granite have taken on.
Italy for Marble had its beginnings towards the end of the 1980's with the Associazione Costruttori Macchine Marmo (the Marble Machinery Manufacturers Association) The two important goals were to promote internationally and open up important foreign markets to the Italian stone industry. This initiative that was in close collaboration with international organisations such as the Taiwan Marble Association, the CCITP China, Olami in South America and also Italian associations such as Assomarmi the official representative of Italian marble in Confindustria, Asmave the important representative of the Verona marble region, followed by the Associazione Marmisti della Regione Lombardia (Association of Marble Producers in the Lombardy region) They represent the finished natural stone product used in Architectural and Interior Design projects, a determining factor in the success of the entire stone industry. Naturally, an important role in this long process of promoting internationally the "Made in Italy" stone industry is the input of the Italian Foreign Ministry and the Ministry for Foreign Commerce as well as the Italian Board of Foreign Trade with its offices throughout the world.
The promotion is a tried and tested service involving the co-ordination of promotional media where the meeting between companies can be set up. For example the trade fairs organised at Hualien/Taiwan, Cordoba/Argentina; the trade shows which feature marble in Milan, Bologna in Italy, Basel in Switzerland and the natural stone trade fairs in Europe, Carrara, Verona, Nuremberg, Dresden, Munich, Hannover, Madrid , Lisbon, Oporto; in South America in San Paolo, Brazil; in Asia; the fairs in Hong Kong, Singapore, Canton , Peking, Shanghai, Tokyo and in the U.S.A in Orlando, Florida.
